Pengaruh Polas Asuh Orang Tua Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Pada Siswa Kelas XI di SMK Bhinneka Karawang

This research aims to determine the influence of parenting patterns on students' learning motivation in class XI at SMK Bhinneka Karawang. This research method uses quantitative methods. The population in this study was class XI students at SMK Bhinneka Karawang with a total of 305 students. The sampling technique in this research is non-probability sampling. The number of samples in this study was 170 respondents. Data were collected using a psychological scale through the short version PAQ (Parental Authority Questionnaire) measuring tool to measure parenting patterns based on aspects from Baumrind (1971) and a learning motivation measuring tool developed by Sardiman (1996). This item analysis test uses the corrected item-total correlation method. The hypothesis testing technique uses a simple linear regression technique. Based on the results of different tests on demographic data, it was found that there were no differences between age categories, gender, parents' occupation, living with parents and parents' educational background. The results of the analysis show that the significance value of the variables democratic parenting and learning motivation is 0.097 > 0.05, meaning there is no influence of democratic parenting on learning motivation. The significance value of the variables authoritarian parenting and learning motivation is 0.126 > 0.05, meaning there is no influence of authoritarian parenting on learning motivation. The significance value of the variables permissive parenting and learning motivation is 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there is an influence of permissive parenting on learning motivation. The resulting R square value is 0.393. This shows that there is an influence of parenting patterns of 39.3% on learning motivation in class XI students at SMK Bhinneka Karawang.
