Abstract
This This study aims to examine the implementation of the retraining program and efforts to improve its effectiveness for staff in the production division of PT Autoplastik Indonesia Karawang. This study employed a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Informants involved in this study included the Head of the HCGA–People Development Division, production foremen, production leaders, and production employees who participated in the retraining program. The research findings revealed that the retraining program has been implemented regularly as part of the company's human resource development. Training materials cover standard operating procedures, work safety, product quality, and the use of production equipment. However, the implementation of the retraining program still faces various challenges, such as training materials that are not fully aligned with actual work needs, one-way delivery methods, and training evaluations that have not been carried out optimally and continuously. The results of observations and interviews indicate that training methods that focus more on work practice and simulation are considered more effective in improving employee understanding and work skills compared to theoretical methods. To optimize the retraining program, periodic training needs analysis, the use of more interactive and applicable learning methods, strengthening competency-based evaluations, and post-training monitoring can be carried out. With this optimization, the retraining program is expected to improve the competence, productivity, and work quality of employees in the production sector in a sustainable manner.
