Abstract
The objective of this study is to assess how frequently Mobile Legends players in Karawang Regency purchase virtual items, with a focus on the influence of digital payment methods and financial literacy. The approach used is a quantitative-based causal-associative strategy. The sampling technique was purposive, with the sample size determined using the Lemeshow formula, resulting in 196 respondents. Data collection was conducted via an online questionnaire using a 1-to-5 Likert scale, while data analysis employed multiple linear regression using the latest version of SPSS software. The results revealed that the frequency of virtual item purchases is positively and significantly influenced by digital payment systems and financial literacy. Simultaneously, these two independent variables demonstrate a substantial contribution to the dependent variable, with a coefficient of determination (R-squared) reaching 57%. These findings confirm that players’ deep understanding of financial management, combined with the ease of digital transactions, tangibly drives an increase in the frequency of virtual item purchases among local Mobile Legends gamers
