Abstract

This study aims to determine the Implementation of the School Literacy Movement for grade 3 students at Sukaharja 1 Elementary School. The study used qualitative descriptive analysis. The subjects of the study were Grade 3 Students of Sukaharja 1 Elementary School. Data were collected through interviews, observations and documentation. Initial observations showed that the implementation of the School Literacy Movement had been carried out since 2016 since the program was first launched. In practice, there are reading corner facilities created by researchers when carrying out initial observations and the school implements a 15-minute activity of reading non-subject books before study time begins. The book contains moral values in the form of local and national wisdom and is delivered according to the stages of student development. Another literacy practice carried out by the school is a student competition in extracurricular activities which include; extracurricular reading, writing, and arithmetic for grades 1, 2, and 3.
