Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in human resource management requires government agencies to adapt to attendance systems to improve work discipline. This study aims to analyze the implementation of an online attendance application and its role in transforming work discipline at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Karawang Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the population consisted of 111 employees with six informants selected through purposive sampling based on their involvement in using the online attendance application. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Then, they were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and validation through triangulation and member checks. The results show that the application is easy to use, reliable, efficient, secure with location verification, and supported by responsive technical support, thus improving the accuracy, transparency, and accountability of attendance recording. The system effectively reduces tardiness, prevents attendance fraud, and encourages employees to consistently adhere to work schedules. In conclusion, the implementation of the online attendance application transforms work discipline from direct supervision to self-discipline strengthened by a digital system, creating more systematic, measurable, and accountable employeebehavior. This digitalization supports effective HR management and improved organizational performance.
