Abstract
The purpose of this study is to assess how competence and discipline influence work-life balance at the Karawang Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office. Using a questionnaire-based survey, a quantitative approach was employed to select 88 respondents from a total of 113 employees, chosen using simple random sampling. Using SPSS version
26 software, multiple linear regression was employed to analyze the data. With a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05), the findings indicate that employee competence significantly enhances work-life balance. Additionally, with a significance level of 0.033 (<0.05), work discipline also exerts a significant positive influence on work-life balance. At the same time, with a calculated F-value of 10.557 and an R-squared value of 0.199, employee competence and work discipline have a considerable impact on work-life balance. This indicates that employee competence and work discipline account for 19.9% of work-life balance. The study’s conclusion highlights the importance of developing competencies and consistently applying work discipline to help employees achieve a balance between their personal and professional lives. It is hoped that the government can use the findings of this research as a guide to create human resource (HR) development policies that prioritize improving workers’ well-being.
